You will usually find a community dining room, with a full-service wait staff, a beauty salon and help with transportation to doctor appointments, stores and other outings.  Additionally, some communities will include a library, TV room, gym, and medical clinic.  Apartments vary in sizes from studios to two bedroom/two bath floor plans.

This type of community also offers the option of an emergency call button in all of the rooms. Independent Living is great for seniors who are on the go and are able to live alone, but enjoy the sense of community and relief from the upkeep of a home or apartment.
